Only five of NATO's 28 member countries last year met the alliance goal of spending at least 2 percent of their economy on defense.

And since we have the highest GDP our 3.61% makes up about 25% of the total NATO budget. I suppose it is in the US interest to defend Europe (against Russia and Iran) but it sure seems like we are the chitty end of the NATO stick. I not really sure what benefit the US gets or has ever gotten out of NATO. As a taxpayer I am so glad we finally have a president with the nads to stand up for America's interests.
