Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: Socialism Ocasio-Cortez on Socialist-democrat philosophy. It’s “the basic belief” that “in a moral and wealthy America no person should be too poor to live in this country.” Sounds a lot like the same old redistribution of wealth Obama ran on. “From each according his ability to each according to his needs.” - Karl Marx IOW, take from the wealthy and give to the poor. The problem is, capitalism is the reason those rich people became rich in the first place! The idea that these share the wealth idea is even being discussed is disconcerting. The libs in the media made a national hero out of Ocasio-Cortez who received 15,897 votes in the Bronx. Dems don't know what to do about this rising star. I've actually read she is being viewed at the "next Obama". She seems to be dragging the democrats to the extreme left. The head of the DNC, Perez, said she is "the future of the democrat party". Yikes! My belief is, "To each according his ability and hard work. Period." My step father, a HS drop out, came from the poorest of poor families in Georgia. He learned roofing and eventually had is over very successful roofing business. He epitomized 'working class middle America'. I think the DNC is on a very slippery slope and are in need of a leader who can rein in the far left and unite the party. Right now it seems the only thing the democrats agree on is hating Trump and fearing/blaming the Russians but I don't know if that message alone is going to help they regain power.....at least not when the economy is doing so well. |

The lines need to be clearly drawn. Shows her youth and inexperience! She it naïve and thinks dems can be honest about socialism and win anywhere except small pockets of the country. Bill Clinton, as much as I disliked the man, was politically astute and moved towards the center (publically) to win the general election. Obama stayed far left and caused the loss of over 1,000 democrat seats at the state and federal level. I actually feel sorry for O-C. She has embarrassed herself nationally with some real bone-head comments showing her ignorance on the economy, history and foreign policy. Maybe she will learn from the school of hard knocks.... |

I hope she is the new face of the Democrat party.....at least she's honest about what she wants. The lines need to be clearly drawn. If her beliefs are rooted in Socialism then I don't want her to learn anything.....and certainly not to be savvy so that she learns to lie about what she wants just to get elected. Again, I'd like the lines to be drawn very clearly. If Socialism and, much more common, globalism is the root of your value system and campaign rhetoric then just tell it like it is. Like him or hate him, President Trump is doing what he said he would do......that's all I want out of politicians, the ability to make a choice based on what a politician says they will do....that's pretty basic to me. I don't give a rip about the rest of it. |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Socialism “From each according his ability to each according to his needs.” - Karl Marx / Bernie Sanders / O-C / Democrats "To each according his ability and hard work. Period." - Capitalism / Republicans Democrats really need to distance themselves from the radical left. The "Medicare for all", "open borders", "abolish ICE" and the "repeal the tax cuts" messages are a huge drag on the democrat party. The RCP poll of polls on the generic ballot is down to just +5 dem and that is down from +13 dem in Dec. IBD poll shows a tie! Shirley someone in the DNC can see the blue wave ebbing and the polls tightening and should ask "why?" Besides the economy booming, why are people changing their vote? From my apolitical, no biased knothole (ouch, who threw that?) it is because of O-C and Bernie and other socialists being made the stars of the democrat party! I think also, the dems lack a message. It's been shown over and over that you need more than criticism of your opponent to win at elections. So wake up democrats! I'm actually a fan of the two-party system but I think when you tie socialism to the democrat brand via socialist-democrat label you kill the democrat party. When I see S-D I think of "Christian-Science" which is neither Christian or Science. I should prolly turn in my GOP membership card for aiding and abetting the DNC. Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Socialism "Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said that the United States is “fundamentally immoral” during a Wednesday morning interview on CBS. Sanders alleged that the level of wealth and income inequality in America means that something is “fundamentally immoral and wrong” with the country." Wow, America is immoral because everyone's income is not equal. BTW, Bernie is in the to 3.8% of incomes according to CNBC. I guarantee one thing if I could make the income as a door greater at Walmart as I made as an engineer I would never have crammed a 4 year EE degree into only 5.5 years. Income inequality is the motive force that drives people to excel. People are NOT all equal. Some are smart and some are not. Some work hard. Some do not. Some are lazy. Some are industrious. Some are fast and some are slow. Life is a bell curve! Most of us under the middle of the bell but there are also those on the upper and lower ends. |
