I am a political news junkie and no matter what the story is, the blame game starts immediately. In every good story there has to be a villain. Nothing 'just happens'. There has to be motive force behind everything. The media used to report the news. Now the main focus of the news is assign blame to someone. So instead of reading what happened at the shooting at the synagogue the media wants to blame someone or some thing so they blame Trump or they blame the assault rifle or they blame nationalists.
I found this on the internet at a “Psychology Today” website and think it is spot-on:
"Blame is an excellent defense mechanism. Whether you call it projection, denial, or displacement, blame helps you preserve your sense of self-esteem by avoiding awareness of your own flaws or failings. Blame is a tool we use when we’re in attack mode. Falling into the category of a destructive conflict resolution method, blame is a way to try to hurt our partners. It’s easier to blame someone else than to accept responsibility. "
It inspired some amateur poetry.

Blame the government, Blame the man,
Blame somebody if can.
Blame your kids, Blame your spouse,
Blame the cat for the mouse.
Blame the Bible, Blame the man,
Blame the woman, Blame the Quran.
Blame the gun, or just Blame Trump,
Blame McDonald's for your fat rump.
Blame the Muslim, Blame the Jew,
Then Blame God before you're through
Blame the devil, Blame the drug,
Blame your spouse and then feel smug.
Blame a republican, Blame a democrat,
Blame the poor man, Blame the fat cat.
Blame the Russians, Blame Facebook,
Blame your on the cook.
Blame Twitter, Blame Google
Blame Amazon cause you’re not frugal.
Blame the media, Blame the hat
Blame your daddy for this and that.
Blame the voters, Blame the system,
So many to blame, I cannot list 'em.
Live your life as your Ought,
Blame no one, just a thought!
