Hello. I have looked at this site ( and poked around a bit. It sounds great if you don't have access to a swim coach. Now he claims he can shave off time per 100yds, but I just want to know if anyone has paid for this and looking for a honest review. I have read and watched the testimonials on the site, but no one puts bad reviews on their own site.

I just went to the website.  I'm going to poke around it to see what its about.  With that being said, one of the coaches, Karlyn Pipes, is legit. She has some youtube videos that are well worth looking at.

I think the key to good swim coaching needs to focus on technique for most triathletes and then tries to build the workouts accordingly. The best way to improve technique is with a coach on deck like a masters program or local coach. Second best is video swim analysis. I got video analysis as part of my coaching with If you are interested PM me your email and I'll send you the file that shows how in depth Scott went with it. The technique modification probably was the biggest gain I made working with them. I also had structured swim workouts that built each week on the next. Overall, I saw about 10-12 second/100 gain with improved stroke and structure and I was swimming about the same volume maybe even a little less than I did on my own.

On top of just flat out speed I also learned to breathe to the other side and how to feel more comfortable with waves in open water. Although, some of those workouts weren't very fun (wind sprints and streamline kick sets are not easy). They were very very beneficial. I swam a triathlon in May that was very choppy and I took two large waves of water and had a minor panic attack in the water. I ended up switching to breastroke for over half the swim. It wasn't a fun feeling. Scott put together a plan for me to get comfortable with a hypoxic feeling in the water and work on breathing to the other side to avoid waves. This ended up being absolutely critical for my first attempt at 70.3 at IM Steelhead. It was in Lake Michigan and overnight the water went from almost completely still to 3-5 ft waves. It was a rough swim but I was 100% prepared. I took a few waves but never freaked out. I finished that swim 14th Age group (M35-39) and 123 overall (including pros) and more importantly I was in great shape to finish the next 69.1 miles strong.

Just depends on what level you are at now.
There's a couple quick fixes that apply to 99% of swimmers that can produce instant results.

If you are already past the quick fixes and your form is solid, you might have to dig deeper for effective technique improvements... or just swim a lot more.

That is my issue, form is NOT solid. When I do my pool laps, I'm at 2:11 / 100yds for about 1800 yards, so tons of room for improvement.

Check around to see if there are any swim clinics in your area coming up. Many years ago I paid $30 to have a coach video tape my form and give feedback on my stroke. He then did voice-over on my form and sent links to online drills etc.

If you have masters swim groups in the area with experienced swimmers/coach's that can help tremendously. You simply need an experienced eye on your stroke.
