Subject: 11spd Crank Set with 10 Speed Cassette
Am I going to run into any problems here?

I got an Ultegra Crankset on the cheap but it's 11spd. Everything else is 10spd.

All of this is on Cannondale Slice 105.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

I think it'll work. . . all the indexing should be done at the rear derailleur.

I am thinking of getting rid of the 11spd Ultegra. It's brand new, but I need to put a new bottom bracket in the "hub" to install it.

You're good; 10 and 11 speed cranksets are completely interchangeable. You don't necessarily even have to swap out the BB; Wheels Manufacturing makes an adapter kit that shims the 24mm spindle to the 30mm ID bearings.

Crank set shouldn't be an issue, just the rear cassette.

But, 10 speeds are phasing out, so parts and servicing may be hard to come by some day.

Let's just call this what it is, a case for N+1 getting full 11 speed.
