![]() Swim
Comments: Beautiful venue for a swim and nice flat, clear water. Started out great, but had a small freakout before the first buoy. Reminded myself that I've done an ironman so I could swim 400 yards. Was fine after that. What would you do differently?: Get in for a practice swim and done some visualization beforehand. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: I was not hurrying at all here. Got a drink of Powerade What would you do differently?: Try to be a little quicker! ![]() Bike
Comments: Something was not right with my bike. Started with checking into transition, it seemed like my brakes were rubbing so I had the bike tech look at it. He fixed that, but then it turned out that I couldn't shift into my lowest two gears which would've been helpful at the start of Gross Hill. Other than that, it wasn't a bad ride. What would you do differently?: Take bike to shop and not let a neighbor mess with it! ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Brought my tri shoes and had trouble getting them on sweaty feet. I definitely was not moving very fast here! Got another drink of Powerade before heading out. What would you do differently?: Try to be a little quicker! And maybe powder in my shoes. ![]() Run
Comments: I knew this would be slow. Went a little better than anticipated but still slow! What would you do differently?: Train more! ![]() Post race
Warm down: Got some snacks, talked to a few people, and then left as the rain started. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training and bike issues Event comments: This was a fun, low key sprint and was a good way to ease back into racing. Last updated: 2025-06-15 12:00 AM

Bagel/PB and banana for breakfast, then drove over to the school pretty early because I wanted to get a parking spot.
Nothing other than the ride to the site and milling around...
