I started off steady and was able to hold it.

Hydrate better the night before.

Just need to put the miles in.

Event comments:

I am really impressed with the coordination of this inaugural event. As far as I could see, everything went off without a hitch. I really like the family meet area. They have huge poles with letters on them. You can tell everyone where to meet ahead of time. No one gets lost!

What a great race to boost your confidence!  I'm so proud of you, you've worked hard and trained religiously to get there.  8:35's for 13 miles is one HELL of a race!!!  Congrats, you kicked A$$!!!!

Nice job!  Keeping a steady pace for a half means you have the Stuff mentally as well as physically, way to go.
