Pre-race routine:

Got there an 1:30 early to get my packet and get set up. Talked to some friends for a while, ate most of a granola bar and drank a little pepsi.

In weather this cold, I wore my gloves, arm warmers, and tights over my regular tri outfit
Event warmup:

Trying to stay warm, rode my bike a couple of miles.
Run
  • 30m 35s
  • 3 miles
  • 10m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

Kept a pretty good pace. I walked only once and really shouldn't have. I've got to learn to push my self through those times better.
Transition 1
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

Easy transition this time. Ate a few sports beans before coming into transition and then a little of a gel during transition
Bike
  • 31m 30s
  • 8 miles
  • 15.24 mile/hr
Comments:

Have to work on cornering - was way too conservative on them. Road too hard the day before and legs were sore. I got them to work, but on any little rise and into the headwind, it hurt
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

took tights off, took a while here
Run
  • 20m 23s
  • 2 miles
  • 10m 11s  min/mile
Comments:

hard to do, but pushed myself harder than in the past. Just keep working at it, it's getting better.

Event comments:

Very well put together race, good for beginners even though there really weren't any there.

Hey, Kim...nice race!  Way to finish the season off.  And if I'm reading your times correctly, you improved markedly on your bike and 2nd run from your last tri in August.  That's what a solid season of consistent training will do.  Congrats!!!
