Rough week for me as I've been sick. I did make it into the gym once this week and managed to do 2 pull ups with 40 lbs. of assistance. So, I either need to gain 40 lbs. of strength or lose 40 lbs., and losing 40 lbs. would put me at 185 so BOTH a strength gain and weight loss are doable here. Recall that my pull up goal is 5 BW pull ups.

Hey gentlemen!  Looking good so far.  Matteight, good looking 50-70% spread...MiketheBear, you're going to come back strong after recovering from being sick...and you know what putting on a little more muscle mass means???  Yep, weight-loss!  (Kind of ironic)  More muscle gained from this challenge will be more active muscles to burn calories all through the day....jcjsc00, nice jobe with the 3-a-week total body workouts...about 65 total sets!  Nice.....

One thing I noticed after charting this stuff week-after-week is the way the body grows...kind of in 'rotation'...for example chest can be flat-lined for a few weeks, but then shoulders or back are the muscle groups breaking the barriers...and vice versa...

I've been playing behind the scenes now for a few weeks with a couple major muscle exercises and a couple of small muscle exercises to supplement my training.  I'll post my goals now and add on to the list once the HIM is over.  I need to take some body measurements as I'm already getting a lot stronger.  Ron thanks for listing WG Pullups, I haven't performed these in forever and holy cow does the body ever respond to those!  One thing I do know is that I need to go out and buy some 50-75 lb dumbbells if I'm going to focus in on other exercises.

You're a man after my own heart.  Wide-Grip pullups are the best!  There is nothing better then getting strong on 'natural bodyweight' exercises like this and pushups.

Looks good last week!

Amen, brother Ron! I learned this the hard way. Roughly 10-11 years ago, I got my weight down to around 165. I was doing all cardio and no weight training. I lost lots of muscle in the process. The pounds came back on and brought a few friends with them.

That's me this year to the T.  I've lost a good deal of BF getting in the best cardio shape of my adult life and a couple of weeks ago my wife said, "your too skinny, I liked you when you had bigger arms", women!  I remember 10-20 years ago lifting a lot to try and get my lean mean weight above 175-180 lbs, this year I go below 175-180 fat lbs for the first time in years and all I get is @#$% for it!
