Run
Comments: There were 30,000 people on this run so it was pretty chaotic(in a good way though, everybody was in a good mood and ready to run). Fortunately most people in the 8 mile run were pretty honest about their pace so I wasn't running up on people(or having people run up on me). I tried really hard to throttle back so I wasn't gassed early, and it seemed to work out well. Aside from the last mile or two, I kept my pace right at a 10-10:15 pace the whole way. Bringing my own water(I have one of the Camelbaks that goes around your waist) was a great idea, it kept me from having to deal with the hordes at each water station. Near the end I made the mistake of thinking I was closer to the end than I actually was so I picked up the pace about a 1/4 mile too soon. By the time I hit the home stretch I was about out of gas and ready to hurl. I made my goals though; I came in under 84 minutes and didn't stop and walk at any point. What would you do differently?: Use the restroom right before the race; I had to christen the Reunion Arena parking garage at about 3.5 miles in. Post race
Warm down: Ate just about anything handed to me and tried to find my gf. What limited your ability to perform faster: I suppose training more would have helped, but I'm happy with my performance. Last updated: 2006-11-17 12:00 AM

I tried to stretch as much as possible, though there's only so much you can do when you're going to spend 20+ minutes standing in a crowd waiting for the start.
