We'll see about the run tho, It frightens me!

I hear you on the running. It's never been my strong suit. But on the other hand, think of how good you're going to feel once you get it done.

Yeah.  I know that I walked around for an extra 3-4 miles after my 12k last year.....but I also stopped and had lunch in the middle....

How is the group doing? I started my program this week. Off to a good start. I'm using a spinning class for one of my bike sessions; motivating instructer and it incorporates intervals. I'm going to have to take my running very slow. I seem to have a nagging knee and hamstring issue. When I go SLOW it seems to be ok. Oh well. Over the past couple of weeks I followed advice received from a couple of sources and went to a dedicated running store and was fitted for good pair a shoes. I also attend a free seminar presented by a 3 people. Two are certified USTA coaches and the other person (I had already spoken to him before) has been involved in tris for about 20 years. It was informative and consistent with information I had read. I am going to take their advice and do a couple a sprints before attempting an olympic distance event. LOL everyone

Welcome back! I, for one, think that skiing is a perfect way to train. (Says the one who wishes to be an eternal ski bum). Truth be told, I'm using the whole tri thing to stay in shape over the summer for the upcoming ski season. There's nothing wrong with being addicted to any sport!

Are we still using this?

If so....here's some questions for you all as a result of the tri I did on Sat...

1. Where's the best place to start for the swim? Since it was my frist tri in about 4 years, I started at the back of my wave, but quickly found myself caught in the middle and on the verge of a panic attack....

2. How long is a transition supposed to take? I think I dawdled my way through them....

3. Recommendations for a good post-race recovery? It's been two days and my muscles are still tight and sore.

Thanks!!!!
