Pre-race routine:

Got to the yWca at 9:00am. I had a cheddar scone for breakfast and lots of water. I got marked; my number was 27! Watched my tri buddy Carrie and took some photo's with the hubby. I set up stuff in tranision area then went to strech. I placed all my transition clothes up in the locker in the order I was going to put them on. right before I left teh locker room, i hit my head with a locker, tiny drop of blood and a red welt over my eye. Not the best time for a incidnet.
Event warmup:

Streched in locker room, listened to my newly loaded Ipod; it was great. The locker room is like a second home, I feel really safe there and seeing other finshers was nice.
Swim
  • 12m
  • 400 yards
  • 03m / 100 yards
Comments:

I was suppose to share a lane with a guy, but when I was about to get into the water, I realized that the lane next us was open so I got my own lane; that rocked! I swim hard and even. At the start I was so excited I was smiling and my breathing got off, but once I got on my back I got back to regualar breathing. I had lots of staff from work cheering me on, that was cool too.
What would you do differently?:

I hate starting and pushing from the deep end, my push is better from the shallow end but what are you going to make them change all the rules?
Transition 1
  • 04m
Comments:

Locker room change SUCKED! went slow, was wet hard to get not one but two required sports bra's on. I had to slow down to put it on right, stuggled with my pants; liked how my clothes were in order it was all that helped.

liked the way I had my head scaf on water bottle and ipod in water belt. I put my socks and my shoes, got tied and then but on the belt on while I was walking to bike. I dropped water in the holder. Had help getting bike seat to right level and getting feet straps to right place (the timers helped me). I rode hard and steady faster than I did in all my trainings.
What would you do differently?:

locker room: find a bra I can wear for the whole deal.

not gotten any help, but they were already doing it before I even got on the bike. I have to do this alone.
Bike
  • 34m 30s
  • 10 miles
  • 17.39 mile/hr
Comments:

did resistance at 9 for first 5 miles and then moved down to 8 for four miles and the last mile I went down to 7 on the resistance; it was nice.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, it was great (besides the helping), got on, rode hard, keep good time.
Transition 2
  • 01m
Comments:

ran to stairs and then I walked up them who needs that stress. Really easy/fast transition.
What would you do differently?:

not run to stairs, take my time and walk; the running will come later
Run
  • 28m 53s
  • 2 miles
  • 14m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

I hate the track, which is why I do not run as much as much anymore. did it, ran around 12 times. I still hate the track. Lot of clapping and cheering. last lap, dropped water and ipod- ran like I was chasing God. did the kick thing and finshed hard.
What would you do differently?:

not run in doors. I hate the treadmill and the track; I need to run outdoors.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around, got some food and hit up the chair massage lady.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing, I did my best. I paced myself and used my energy wisely. Could of trained harder.

Event comments:

great race for the start of the season.
