Any good recommendations? I'd like to keep it economical. All I wear is non-cotton boxer briefs no matter if I'm training or not. Check out your local Walmart or Target store. I get 3 packs of box.briefs for about $10. A lot of manufacturers are using technical fabrics in everyday stuff. Lycra-poly blend.

I like the compression shorts as well....but IMO not very economical at $14 a pair. Seen cheaper but they tend to have super wide wastebands. |

That's definitely true - I've seen them range in price from $10 to $25 depending on the brand, store, etc. The other side of that coin is that they last for a longass time... I've had mine for a couple years now and they're not showing any signs of slowing down. So if you stretch out that $20 over a couple years, it's not so bad. |

I have a 4 year-old pair of $15 compression shorts by InSport (cheapo company). |

Extreme Veteran 384 Chatham. Ontario | Subject: RE: need non-cotton underwear recs Another reccomendation, I just purchased simular under armour type undergarments from Marks Work Warehouse. The regular price was $19.99, now they are on clearance for $4.99. They even have ones that you wear for biking. The material is water wicking so they are a great bargain. They also have tight compression t shirts that match. I wear the bike underwear and the compression top while riding my trainer. They work perfect. |

Elite 3687 | Subject: RE: need non-cotton underwear recs Tights probably was not the right word to use. They are the black elastic type pants that people wear in the winter when they run. Not skin tight, but not loose either. |

My boyfriend was shopping for some the other day actually, and he noticed WalMart now has a brand (AthleticWorks? or something?) that seems to be made of fabric similar to the UnderArmor stuff...might be worth checking out? We're in Canada though, so it might be different if you're in the US? Good luck! Megz |

Expert 897 Seattle WA | Subject: RE: need non-cotton underwear recs So I went to a nearby target - and found C9 boxer briefs but they were still cotton - 90% cotton, 10% lycra, I think (could have been 95%/5%). Are these waht you wear? I figured they wouldn't work well if there's that much cotton. I also saw they had full-length underwear which was all polyester for ~$10, but I really just want the shorts. ejc999 - 2007-01-28 11:24 AM I use Target C9 brand boxer briefs. Elite 2768 Raleigh | Subject: RE: need non-cotton underwear recs I dont wear anything under my running shorts... that is what the inside thingy is for.... And to go over the running shorts, I do wear some running long pants (mizuno thermo pants, they get hot when they get wet). So other than that, nothing else and I have ran comfortably in 25 degree weather. If you cover your head, hands, and arms the rest of you should stay warm and toasty |

If not for you, try patagonia, best products ever made for cold weather.
PS - edit - if you are trying to keep it economial stick a sock on your little man to keep him warm! That should work. :-) Edited by mikericci 2007-01-29 6:42 PM |

That's some funny shizit, right there. I don't care who you are. For runs under a couple hours, I'm OK in cotton. Over a couple hours, try wearing your jammers or speedo. Works like a charm, no new equipment. And they're stretchy, so there's prolly room for a sock for your little man...Heh. LISA?!!! |
