Subject: Navigation consistency

Hello guys,

First, let me start off by saying I love BT.  It's a great and useful resource.

That said, one source of frustration I something have is the lack of consistency in navigation throughout the site.

For example, if I go to my Training Log page, when I first come to the page, right below the large buttons, there are the Blog, Calendar, Week, Month, Year, Graph links.  If I select something other than "Blog" from that menu, those links disappear from that navigation bar, but appear in the calendar.

Also, on some pages, you have the menu represented by the image file I attached, sometimes you don't.

Being a web developer, I know this is no small task, but I do think it would really improve the usability of the site if the navigation was more consistent.  If I knew ASP better, I'd offer to help, alas, I'm a JSP guy.

thanks

Tim

Hehe...this template is getting near the end of it's useful life.  Plus we have piled-in a lot of features, more pages and links from when we started using this template 2 years ago...

I've been looking at other templates here and there...navigation will be a big key of the next one, it will probably be an end of 2007 project.

But at the moment nothing I see makes me go 'wow'.  There was this site that made awesome console-type templates with rich graphics, but I lost the link and have never found them...I think it was linked off of a gaming site...

And it's very difficult for me to give a lot of cash to a company upfront to do a redesign without seeing a 'draft' first...I just can't bring myself to do it...

It was probably that, or a porn site.  Those two genres are always on the cutting edge when it comes to Internet technology, sadly enough.
