Jill-

Thanks for the words.  I am eating at night because I work out at night and come home starving.  I try to drink a big glass of water but next thing I know I am at the cheese and crackers (funny, how that was brought up).  It is what my body wants at that time.  I also know that when the kids are around (I have them every other week) I dont eat as well.  Not that I am blaming them, it just happens that I cook more when they are here and they also love to bake for their old man.  I think that I cant avoid the crunch ball anymore and lifting needs to be a priority.

All I can say is it is nice to have you all here....

Jim

Okay, here is the 2/21 data...we were up.  It sort of fits a pattern, one week down big followed by a slight up trend.  I wonder if it is our bodies balancing or if this forum is really good at getting us back on track....maybe a bit of both.

I am doing my first duathlon on Sunday so I am kind of preoccupied with that.  nervous and worried about the weather.  Fellow Skinny 2 member Joe (joebowler) is participating in the same event so it will be fun to meet a Skinny member face-to-face and at least have someone there I "know".  Joe, I assume you will be on your Orbea (as will I) so I will look out for you.

Good luck Jim and Joebowler on your race this weekend! Dblack and I are doing our first half marathon tomorrow. Of course right now the weather prediction is thunderstorms and possible tornado, great weather for our first long race! So this morning I have been going back and forth on my clothing options. I have gotten lots of good advice on a thread I posted and it looks like bodyglide on the feet and "compression" clothes are my best options. The good news is that it shouldn't be too cold, probably in the mid 60's. Wish me luck! It is a good thing I have this race in the morning because I think I have taken this whole carbo loading thing to extremes!

Good luck to all of you!  You're gonna do great.  Let us know how it all turns out.

In the meantime, my weight is up again!  BF% is down again, so on the whole, things are positive, but this doesn't bode well for the posted results.  Wish there were a way to state my goals in body fat lost, since that is my main goal anyway.  I figure the final weight will take care of itself.  Oh well.

Good luck to you (Jill and Doug)!  It looks like we are going to be rained on as well.  I saw your thread about clothing and it was helpful to me as well.  I have running tights and a compression shirt but I am worried about getting too hot on the run.  I think I will get some tri shorts today and wear the tights over them.  Guess I am most worried about riding on the wet roads.

Randall, when we started this challenge, some of us logged our BF as well as weight.  For the spring challenge I can track either one so it is really your choice.  My fear is that the BF readings will not change much and show all the hard work.

Ahhhh. Yesterday I was down to 147.5 and happy that my hard work was paying off.

Today I was back up to 151 which I haven't been in gosh knows how long!!!

I did eat a bunch of Pad Thai for dinner, but seriously 4 pounds?!!!

That is the most I have ever fluctuated and I have been pretty good about food, eating a lot, but making good choices, and exercising consistently.

I did the same thing this week.  For no apparent reason, and completely contrarty to eating well and working out well, the weight was piling on.  At one point, I was higher than when we started this challenge.  Then, suddenly today it's gone, and I'm back below where I was last week.  Go figure.

Don't sweat it; stress causes weight gain.
