Total Time = 1h 30m 42s
Overall Rank = 76/165
Age Group = F 35-39
Age Group Rank = 2/7
Pre-race routine:

Practiced transitions and loaded up the car the night before. Woke up at 6:00am. Had frozen waffles, orange juice, and some coffee for breakfast. Got dressed and headed to the race site at 6:45am.
Event warmup:

Warm-up run for about 10 minutes. Had my tights on at this time, but decided to take them off for the race.
Swim
  • 09m 57s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 29s / 100 yards
Comments:

I can't believe that with my swim pace I actually swam the fastest in my age group! Everyone must have been wiped out for the swim! I basically swam in a daze, especially since my googles fogged up and I couldn't really see. I would swim a length and then take a couple of extra breaths at the side, and do that again and again and again. I wasn't really paying attention to how much I had swum or how much I had left. I knew that when I got to the last lane then I was basically finished. I let one guy pass me at the wall and then I passed a girl at the wall.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe push myself a little harder during the swim. I swam at a pace that was comfortable and that kept my breathing in control.
Transition 1
  • 01m 27s
Comments:

Disappointed in this time. I wasted a lot of time trying to get my helmet fastened! I think my running gloves were making it harder than it should have been. I then I was so wobbly that I had a difficult time getting on my bike shoes.
What would you do differently?:

Not try to fasten my helmet with gloves on!
Bike
  • 53m 42s
  • 15 miles
  • 16.76 mile/hr
Comments:

The wind was terrible! I should have been a lot faster!

I believe T2 is included in the time posted.
What would you do differently?:

Not race on such a windy day! :) Aside from that, nothing.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

This time was included in the bike time. My watch shows approx. 1:02 for T2. Had to strip out of clothing which was interesting. In my practice I forgot to take off my socks, but I remembered during the race. Also, I had to waste time getting my hair twisted up, so that I could get my swim cap on.
What would you do differently?:

Cut my hair short so that I don't have to mess with a swim cap! :) Just kidding!
Run
  • 25m 38s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 16s  min/mile
Comments:

Nice run! It gave me a new PR! I didn't even push it as hard as I could have, because I wanted to make sure I was starting the bike off well.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

After the swim and the abrupt stop to the race, I changed into dry, warm clothes. They ran out of cups (or I just didn't see them), so I had to wait until transtion opened so that I could get a drink. I guess I forgot to do any stretching!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The wind!!!

Event comments:

I'm not sure I'll do another reverse tri, but I had fun today (aside from the wind!) I enjoyed talking to, meeting, and hanging out with other BTers.

Great race and congrats on the PR for your run. Just look at the foggy goggles as practice for open-water swimming. Are they giving out any hardware for the top 3 finishers in each age group?

They ran out of cups (or I just didn't see them)

They were sitting at the halfway point of the run. I'm sure there were a lot left there.

Congrats on the hardware and the run PR.
