Subject: Did '05 650c Zipp 404's have dimples?

Just curious if any of you wheelheads know, but did the '05 Zipp 650c 404's have the patented dimples?  (Note: they're tubulars btw) Reason I ask is that I found a pair of brand new ones on sale for $1,200.00 at an lbs advertised--as described above--but they didn't have dimples.  Anyway, I was wondering if this is a good buy.

I just got a pair of (lightly used) HED 3's, but if the price above is good, I'd consider getting them and trying them both (and selling off the pair I decided not to use).

None of the 650c wheels got the dimples.  IMO that's not a great price; take a look on Ebay and slowtwitch, the 650c stuff usually goes for less.  If you've already got H3s, why in the world would you buy the 404s anyway?  Just send me the money and I'll tell you the trispokes are faster.

as far as i know, the new ones aren't dimpled either.  i agree, not a great buy, but if you get them i'll take the hed-3's off your hands

No Zipp 650 wheels have dimples and according to them, they have no plans to add them in future models. Something about the cost of retooling the molds vs. limited sales for 650's.

Edit: If you have H3's there is no reason to get 404's or really even 808's unless you just have a wheel fetish.
