I am not doing that race but I was there a few days ago and it is NICE! Honestly in a long sleeve you are about right maybe even a little warm. Sleeveless you are going to be good. No wetsuit might be a little chilly but not freezing by any means.

Just checked the conditions in the gulf and it's supposed to be about 68 degrees in the water all week and weekend.  In 2005 I did a swim at Fort DeSoto bareback at 68 degrees and I was not happy.  I've learned to tolerate colder water now, either way I'm wearing my full suit on Saturday.  Air temp is only supposed to be 50 degrees so that may have an effect on how cold you are in the water too.

Oh and by the way, we do know that the bike is only 23 miles right?  It's not an "official" Olympic distance...this is mentioned on their website.

thanks for the water info - full suit it is (for now). i'm not worried about the 23, especially if it's a head wind!

Ft. Desoto is ALWAYS windy, but it will be headwind/tailwind equally. Should be a lot of fun!

Yeah YIKES is right...cold mornings suck...especially when you're trying to walk on wet cold grass.

Good luck at Wildman on Saturday!
