Total Time = 00m
Overall Rank = 135/188
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 20/22
Pre-race routine:

Woke up about 5:30am. Had oatmeal for breakfast. Wife and I arrived at the site about 6:45am.
Event warmup:

Just stretched.
Run
  • 27m 46s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

I definitely wanted to hold something back so that I did not bonk on the run. That is what happened the last time I did a run and then a bike. The run was pretty flat and fast.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe next time push a little harder.
Transition 1
  • 01m 16s
Comments:

I put my sunglasses on after the run and they immediately fogged up on the bike. So I had to take them off and shove them in my bike pant leg. This slowed me down in getting up to speed.
What would you do differently?:

Not wear sunglasses
Bike
  • 44m 14s
  • 13 miles
  • 17.63 mile/hr
Comments:

Overall I was pleased but had a few difficulties with shifting gears.
Transition 2
  • 01m 21s
Comments:

I think I was a little slow to begin with. When I got into transition, I was the only one there and I was a little disoriented. I had to yell out to someone to tell me where we exit for the run.
What would you do differently?:

Make sure I know the exits backward and forward.
Run
  • 13m 52s
  • 1.55 miles
  • 08m 57s  min/mile
Comments:

Good run.
Post race
Warm down:

Rested in the stands and cheered my wife on. Ate a piece of pizza.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just need to train more and get better on the run.

Event comments:

I would definitely do this race again. It was well organized.

Hey! I saw you out there! But you were walking by and I wasn't able to grab you. We met at the TexasMan last Sept.

You were my boyfriends "rabbit" yesterday. HA! His name is J.Brashear.

Looks like you had a solid race. Sorry I didn't grab you to chat and meet your wife.

OH! As for the sunglasses- I had the same problem. In T1 they fogged right up, so I tossed them before riding.

Thanks! I think I saw your boyfriend. We went back and forth and then he burned me at the end. I'll get him next time! See you at the next one.

Great job pacing yourself. Most everyone had a slower pace on the second run vs. the first run.
