... for those that wanted to see (or even try) a week of PC Coach/Pigg's Triathlon Bundle trianing.

last week, outside of the swimming (3200y ... probably more than a previous month's worth), it was a bad week for me.

I got a new bike seat for comfort. My wife and young son (2.5yo) both have the flu, so doing much of anything Fri-Sun was out.

This week should be much better. I need to put a foot up my own butt and pack my training equipment the night before, so I can get to the pool at 3, not 3:30 and get a whole hours worth of swimming in ... rather than 30 min.

Running will be outside.

Hang in thereTT these are things that make us stronger. At least that's what somebody told me! Sometimes our family commitments do interfere with training, but you have to take care of your family and I am sure that the training will fall into place this week. Your son is to the age he will be cheering you on this summer and these little minor things will be long forgotten when he is yelling for his Dad at the top of his lungs at the finish line.

Thanks for the comments Michael. I hope I did not sound negative. I am more than happy to look after my family when they need me. My wife in bed all day, and my son wanted to be "held". We snuggled all day. Usually it's wreslting non-stop, but it was kind of nice to hold him, as I did when he was an infant. He grows up so fast and wants to do everything on his own. It was nice to be reminded on the most basic level, that he stills needs his daddy.

Your son is to the age he will be cheering you on this summer and these little minor things will be long forgotten when he is yelling for his Dad at the top of his lungs at the finish line.

Not likely ... my Jacob will be the little guy telling me as I get off the bike "Daddy, Jacob's turn". He thinks he's the athlete, not the spectator. I love it. As I collapse to a knee after the finish line, I know I'll get the "headlock from behind", with a big "Gotcha!". Kids are great ... they have no understanding of the big picture.

He starts swim lesson this spring. I'll have to get him a user ID for PC Coach ;-)

I better stop, I'm one of those annoying dads that could talk about his family all day.

Someone remind me next time my son is sick and approaches me with a "daddy gimme kiss" to look and see if his nose is running or not. I could have done without that surprise.

My son is 4 on Wednesday and part of my rationale for the triathlon training is to set an example of regular exercise and an active lifestyle for him as he grows up, as well as keeping myself fit. I came from a home where nobody did anything and I'm sure this had an impact on my childhood fitness and activity levels.

The other day we were shopping for groceries and a very fat man wandered up the aisle next to us. The next thing I heard was ".....Daddy, that man doesn't do any exercise does he!" in a rather loud voice! It was sooo funny but at least made me realise it was having a subtle effect on him!

Sorry your family was sick Triple Threat! I know what you mean about taking the time off being hard. I am just starting back today (easy) from injury and it has been hard. But was able to do more family stuff this last week and that was nice! I hope you are all well now.
