Run
Comments: There were about 350 runners and when the horn went off I found myself in the middle of a mass of people. Took a few minutes to actually try and get past some to a gap where I felt more comfortable running and finding my pace. It was kind of weird that in a group of so many, everyone spread out quite quickly but for the entire run there was only a few people that overtook me and I don't think I overtook more than a couple either. 42nd out of 126 females. Quite happy with that as my pace was 8:30/mile which is fast for me. What would you do differently?: I don't think I could have gone any faster than I did today. It would be interesting to see how much more I could push myself if I did this on fresh legs. It was part of my longest run ever. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a few minutes then went off to complete my total long run time of 2hr30min - luckily that was only another 16minutes and was at a nice easy pace. What limited your ability to perform faster: Running beforehand! Event comments: Very well organised Last updated: 2007-03-26 12:00 AM

Well this race was being used as a tempo part of a longer run to test nutrition etc under higher stress conditions, so my pre-race routine consisted of getting to the start early and running for 55mins beforehand.
55min extra running and then getting to start line to have a gel and hang around for 5mins til the horn went
