Pre-race routine:

Ate a good breakfast. 1st Trithlon - a little nervous. Got to race early, and had plenty of time to set up.

Breststroked the whole way, need to work on freestyle form.
What would you do differently?:

Spend more time swimming. Only trained twice prior to this race.

Need to check equipmenmt during set up. Used a spare helmet and forgot to adjust chin strap. Didn't loosen shoes enough. Need to work on transition. Too SLOOOW!
What would you do differently?:

Check equipment for fit @ setup.

Legs felt spongy for the first mile. Did'nt get my wind until after the first mile & 1/2.

Need to work on brick training.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not knowing what to expect. Could have pushed a little harder on the bike. Need to do some serious work on swimming and running.

Event comments:

Great race support. A great 1st trithlon to compete in. You guys have got me Hooked!!

Hey there, I ran that race as well (so did Aims and Tplauche - check out the other race reports). Its too bad we didn't know you were there as its always nice to meet other BT'rs.

Thanks alot, I remember seeing Tplauche on the ride and the run. I had a great time , looking forward to participating, (competing in some more. I think the the Destin Crab Trap Tri on Oct 9, might be my next one. Do you guys train localy ? I reside in the Dunwoody /Doraville area. Look forward to seeing you guys in some up coming races.

Hey, no fair. You got to meet me, but I didn't get to meet you.

That was a great race, and I'm looking forward to next years.

Do we train locally? - There is a group ride this weekend near Tribesmans area on the Silk Sheets trail. I am trying to make it, but I don't know yet. If you want to join the group let someone know and we'll get you directions and info.

There are two others of us headed to Destin for the CrabTrap Oct 9 (Tribesman and myself). We should hook up. I have found it is great to meet other BT'rs at these events. We are doing a group ride Saturday morning at 8am if you'd like to join us. Let me know by sending me a note.

l would love to join you guys on the ride this saturday, but I've got to go out of town. I'll pass the message to "Lkoczwara", she might want to hook up for the ride. Keep me in mind for next week. Some other buddies and I are also planning to riding the 3 Gap or 6 Gap century on Sept. 26. We would love to have some others that are willing to pull.
