Is there a specific way to take those things off quickly? At my last tri I just peeled if off myself like a big black banana....and got the "peel" stuck on my ankles.

use Body Glide all over your legs, from the knees down and don't forget the tops of your feet!  This will stop it from getting stuck on it's way off.

It should be off your back and shoulders and around your waist by the time you get to T1. At T1, pull it down as far as it will go, then just use your hands, almost like knife blades, and slide them between the suit and your skin to peel it down and off your ankles. And, as has been siad, use Body Glide liberally.

The guy at the tri-store told me Pam was as good as body glide in this instance, T or F? (I have both...)

Well, with the cost of a wetsuit vs. the cost of Body Glide, I have never even been tempted to experiment with Pam or any other alternative, and never will. Body Glide works and it won't harm your wetsuit. I'm sticking with it.

There was a thread last week about the use of Pam and wet suit removal.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the reply.  I sprayed with Pam before my last tri but I didn't put it inside the suit, I sprayed directly on my  body.  The suit came off easily until I got to my ankles....maybe a heavy coat of body glide in that area?

I asked the guy at the tri store, and he assured me that Pam doesn't harm the wetsuit.  In fact, I was asking because it was thier rental wetsuit I was putting the Pam under!  But now I  am a proud owner of my own

This solution isn't for everyone.  My wet suit tapers a lot at the ankle area, but 3 inches higher up it's wider.  I took a pair of scissors and cut off the bottom 3" and it made a big difference in ease of removal.  The seam is well sealed and the cutting did not compromise it.  I don't know why wetsuits have to be so long.  To me, it seems that mid-calf length would be sufficient, and it would be easier to get out of.

Hmmm....not a bad idea, but I'm afraid to try it.  If I goof up, I don't get another one.
