Bring the camera, a good attitude and soak up the fun of your first tri as it is a great new experience.

If you bring a camera, where would it go during T1, along with you on the bike, back in the transition bag, ??? I don't know since I haven't done a Tri yet. Is the transition bag in T1 left at T1, or do volunteers move it to T2? Thanks.

T1 and T2 are rarely in different places. In most tris you have to rack your bike(T2) in exactly the same space you unracked it (T1).

Camera should really be left with supporting spouse or unwitting but willing spectator in order to get action shots.

I take black electrical tape, mainly for "just in case" issues.

So far I've used it to tape Gu on the bike (tape it at the tear point and you can open it with one hand!), to secure a race number to the bike, to keep a loose wire close to the frame, and have lent it to others who used it to cover the ends of their handlebars that were missing caps... I'm sure I'll find other uses next race!

McFuzz - 2007-05-03 12:57 PM Support crew/Adoring fans?

see supportive partner thread - mine won't be coming...

Sorry (I haven't followed all the threads)...Doesn't have to be hubby. Best friend? Mother?

C'mon BT peeps! we need a Houston posse!

Yo. There will be a small BT contingence there.

Sister Booty is geographically distant.   Good thing for BIL or I would kick his butt.

Thanks my BT friends for supporting Cathleen through this.  She has trained long and hard, managing emerging asthma, managing 3 kids.

Cathleen - my first tri I had Rachael out, who I left in the care of Emily and Kevin.   It was great to have someone there.   However, at the end, they Em and Kevin were SO ready to go right away, and I wanted to hang out with COgirl and Ovetta, get a massage, etc, etc.    Take advantage and linger, stay and encourage the last finishers, enjoy the BT comaradarie, and don't think you need to rush home to resume your other responsibilities.

Los Angeles Triathlon is a point-to-point bike ride with separate T1 & T2. Competitors bag and tag their stuff at T1, and volunteers collect the bags and take them to T2.

Is there an expo the day before the race, or can you contact the race director? If you have separate T1 &T2, I'd ask them how they'll be handling gear at T1.
