Pre-race routine:

Had only been running for 10 days prior to the race (and only every 2-3 days at that); most mileage at once was 2.6 prior to race. I was supposed to have Wendy & Marcy run with me, but they both backed out. Nobody could believe that I did it after only 10 days of "training."
Event warmup:

Uh, yeah. I guess I stretched a little, but not much!
Run
  • 1h 24m 48s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 13m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

Mile marker #1 was the only one I ever saw. Indicated my first mile was at 11:28, the remaining markers were long gone by the time I reached them. No directions on which way to go (thankfully, I had looked up the route ahead of time!!!), no water stations (there were supposed to have been three, there was evidence that the second one existed -- a folded up table surrounded by empty cups!), but they said they were out of water. I probably would've finished a LITTLE better (hey, I might have finished ahead of the 81 year old man!!!!!!!!) had I been more hydrated.
What would you do differently?:

WATER...GATORADE...SOMETHING prior to the run for hydration -- even carrying my own would've been better. Are Camelbacks allowed during the races? I will have to check on that...
Post race
Warm down:

Ate a banana, even though I felt like throwing up, then I felt better, drank one cup of water. Walked around a little, stretched a little.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training & hydration levels.

Event comments:

This was my first race, I am excited to see some major improvements!
