A question for those living in FW...
I haven’t run in FW for a long time… can’t remember what the surface is like at Trinity Park. Per the info I found online re. the surface, it’s a “3.1 mile loop. 90% of the path is crushed limestone”. Is it the same paved surface as the Trinity River Trail? Or more rugged, off-road type? (It's for running not riding.)

Thanks.

The trail that goes through the park is not paved, while the trail that runs along the river is paved. The unpaved travel is crushed gravel. There is also a gravel trail to the side of the paved trail by the river so you can choose either. I run there often and like both trails. Good luck!

What she said.  It's a nice run.  See, also http://www.elscorchorun.com/.  They'll be using the crushed rock trail alot in July.

Thanks and, Yes, that's the 50K I'm planninng on running!! Do you use trail running shoes or regular road running shoes while running on the unpaved, crushed gravel path? (I ran at the Bar-H ranch last Sat on some ruggy trail w/ crushed gravel and the big toenail turned back afterwards -- ouch!! ;)

I'll go there to check out the path at the Trinity Pk once the course map is on line.

Regular shoes (although I wear Nike Free, so what is regular?).  This trail is smooth.  I'm gearing up for the 25k.

You runnin' too? Cool. I need to choose among them ;-)

The dirtiest, muddiest pair (Adidas Response) is for running on trails; the rest are the regulars (Mizuno Precision ;)

Thanks again! See ya on the trail.
