Comments: Wow, my HR says it all. Started high and never went down! Partly adrenaline I hope. Last bit was hard but didn't feel like I was going to die after crossing the finish line (which I did last year) I started in just the right place so no hoards to overtake and no hoards overtaking me - though a couple of girls whizzed past like I was standing still. What would you do differently?: Stay in the warm until a few minutes before start Post race
Warm down: Jogged back to the car to get my sweatshirt layers again. What limited your ability to perform faster: Ha, this is the fastest I have ever gone. 7:20/mile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't have gone faster. My time last year was 24:41 which I wanted to beat and I smashed that so very pleased with myself Event comments: I have never seen so many doughnuts in my life! There were healthy fruit options as well though. This is a very well organised, women only race and the atmosphere with women cheering for each other is very nice Last updated: 2007-05-07 12:00 AM

Managed to drag myself out of bed a couple of hours before race start to eat some breakfast.
I arrived about 40 minutes before start and went for a 15 minute jog to warm up with 2 sweatshirts and trackies over my shorts and T shirt. Boy, that wind was cold. Then I left all the layers in the car and went to the start about 10minutes to go. Of course that was enough time to get freezing cold again
