Comments:

I had only done 1500 in open water once before and I beat that time by 10 minutes! I believe that my VASA trainer has really helped my swim stroke. I have some questions about the navigation on this course. The pre-race announcement was to stay close to the buoys (i did, but nobody else seemed to)...the course was a crescent.

I was fun to get out of the water with a lot of other people.
What would you do differently?:

Keep training. I started a little timid. It was a tread water start, so I treaded to the back, and was slow to get into my "stride"

Forgot to put on my sunglasses. Rode 25 miles with nothing covering my eyes!
What would you do differently?:

I would like to get that under 2 minutes. I am going to put my glasses with my helmet next time (not with my shoes). Cranial accessories should be kept together.

I was riding strong. When I felt weak or tired, I would just focus on my cadence, not my speed. I threw my chain in a big way in the first mile. Cost a minute on my time.
What would you do differently?:

I did a 17 mile ride on friday and it was definitely hurting me on Saturday. Too much. half hour is the longest I will go, and no hills, easy pace.

Warm down:

Marathon candy bar and some propel water. Some stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I beat my goal by 10 minutes. So, at this point I think I simply need more time into my training. Love that Maffetone program on my PC Coach/Mike Pigg Triathlon software.

Event comments:

Good race that I will definitely do again. Lin-Mark did the timing, and had the results posted on the internet the same day!!!

I've heard a lot of good stuff about this race. Looking at this one and the one in Wilkes-Barre when it's time to move up to an Oly. Good job.
