Subject: Great Illini Half-Iron Distance Triathlon
Has anyone done this race before? This is my first half ironman and would like to know what to expect at this event. Lots of racers? Hows the bike course? lots of volunteers? Please share your thoughts.

This is the 1st year. 

I've done several of the smaller races these organizers have produced.  Sometimes they are dead on and sometimes they are not.  I think they may have bitten off more than they can chew here...but I hope I'm wrong!

im going with a group from Peoria,Il... they have done the course last couple of years.... from their report it is really flat.... they said it was a great starter to do the 1/2 and full IM's

I was planning on doing the full distance, but overuse injuries and lack of training time caused me to back down. I did a half in STL last year. This one sounds like it ought to be good, I hope there are a lot more competitors than I think there are though.
