Pre-race routine:

Hurry to get to the start, parking was an issue

Event warmup:

Some jumping and a short jog to the portapotty and back

Comments:

Stuck with my buddy for the first Km, then took off.
Had planned a steady pace for first 4 miles and then go for it.
Great mile 5, mile 6 is a bit uphill which hurt and the last portion to the finish was to busy to go any faster.
I am very happy with an average of less that 9min/mi!!! :-)

What would you do differently?:

Run in a faster wave will probably help a bit, but it is fun to start with your friends. Start a bit faster.

Post race

Warm down:

Walked a bit, stretched and waited for my friend.
Then we went and got a nice massage.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Leading up to and getting into the stadium was packed, no possibility for a final kick. But breaking 9min/mi was excellent for me. Next year with another year of training I hope to break 48mins

Event comments:

Training hard already to break 48mins in next year's race!
Let's hope the get the results on time next year.
