Cool, we might have 6 to 8 people depending on who shows up. I actually thought about wearing my wetsuit but since I can't wear it sunday I figure I should practice without it. You will probably smoke all of us since you are faster even w/o the suit. At least we will have someone to sight off of. |

I spent 3 months picking out a wetsuit... and I'm going to wear it... HA! Honestly, I'm a better swimmer out of a wetsuit. I kind of hate swimming in one, but I hate being cold more. Sure... you can sight off me... I'll be sure to sight then. |

Heck, that is part of the reason I wanted to do Captex. I had just bought the suit and wanted to use it in a race since my races are not wetsuit legal this year (all 3 ironhead races). I want it more for the fall and early spring if I want to practice. kproudfoot - 2007-06-06 12:57 PM Cool. Looks like a good number. Champion 5575 Butler | Subject: RE: Open Water Swim Practice before Metroplex Sprint Yeah, I definately had fun. The waves were tough but fun, I wish after the fact I would have same the second loop with Dave but oh well. I should definately be okay on Sunday now. I know I still have not done the mass start but I figure all those waves makes up for that.

I'll be out of town this weekend, but y'all have fun at the Metroplex Sprint, and don't let Jack or his infamous pre-race speech get to you. He bugs the heck out of my wife! -David |

He bugs the heck out of my wife! -David No, not intentionally. He's just strict and by the book. He'll give about 5 - 10 minutes speech before the race. He'll talk about the bike course, tell you about the turns, and everything. I've heard him yell a couple of times because he thought that people weren't listening. He said it's those people who have problems or miss a turn or something. He comes from military background and it shows. Not a bad thing at all, and I like the guy. He just gets under some people's skin (like my wife!)
