Hello all,

My name is Doug and I'm from Lapeer Michigan. I'm very new to all this. The last time I did any running was back in high school. You all know me, I was the kid that came in last during track days in gym class....

Lately, I've gotten into bicycling and am having alot of fun. I got the idea of doing triathalons, actually duoathalons (sp), from a post on the MMBA website. This is a huge step for me, but with time, i think I can do it.

So, here I am, trying to learn what to do and how to do it. I apologize up front for all the dumb questions I'll probably ask. Hope to meet some of you in person at the races!

All the best,

Doug

Hi Doug,

Welcome to BT.  There is a pretty big Michigan crowd here so I am sure we'll see you at the races.  Have you picked out your first race yet??

Welcome Doug.

There is a tri this weekend at Big Fish Lake in the Ortonville/Hadley Rec area. It might be a good chance to come out and see what its like. You could even volunteer, I know the race management company was looking for more. Its being put on by www.3diciplines.com if you are interested in watching an event.

Hello Doug,
I live in Burton so if you ever need some one to run or bike with to help motivate just let me know. Have fun on your journey to becoming the best you can be. And feel free to ask any question you like, dumb or not

Craig,

No, haven't picked out a race yet. I figure this summer will be taken care of with training. But, I'm not ruling out anything, yet. Maybe in the fall

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the offer. I'm in Almont (S.E.Corner of Lapeer), so not too far from Burton. Are you by chance doing the charity bike ride for the visually impared next month?

It should be done and wrapped up by noon. It kicks off at 8:00am for Oly, and 8:30am for the sprint.
