Subject: Knee'd helpI have completed on Tri todate (a beginners tri consisting of: 200yd swim, 10mile ride, 2mile run ). I truly enjoyed it but I have one problem, a sore knee while training. I have seen an Ortho Specialist and nothing has shown up on the test. His suggestion is to go in and take a look and maybe clean up if anything is found. The pain is not debilitating and usually wears off about 1/4 mile into running but returns an hour or so after training (training ) Aleve solves the problem but Doc doesn't seem to like that idea. I have pretty well had this same problem for about 4 years but have managed so far. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and what did they do about it.
Should I get the Scope done? I am pretty heavy at 230lbs 5'11". However the problem was there when I was 200lbs so I don't believe the weight is the whole issue. It is not Illiotibial Band (that's the other knee that can be stretched into behaving ). I want to continue with the Tri's but I dread getting out and running because of the pain. I also have new shoes New Balance 715's.
Any suggestion on how to procede, training through ideas or options would be greatly appreciated. |
