Lake to Lake's this weekend!  Who's all going?  Are your ready? and how does it fit into your race schedule?

I don't feel ready to race but until this last weekend I felt good about a solid training effort (this is coming at the end of a recovery week).  I guess I would call it a "B" race for me this year.  Looking forward to a little higher water level than last year although not looking forward to such an early departure from Lakewood.

Have a good week going in and a great race!

Okay what is this about the water level????? I despise shallow water, if my hand touches anything on the bottom, I will probably quit the race. Please someone ease my fears!!!!

Last year the water level was so low that it started with a mud run and then the final 150yd were through a 2 foot deep sludge channel where you could barely swim without scraping the bottom. Hopefully, it's better this year!

I'm racing again this year. I'm not sure I'm as well trained as last year, but we'll see.  I'd love to meet up with folks after the race.

Yes it would be great to get a bunch together after the race.

As for water level, last year the lake was about 15 ft low.  When I was up for a pre-ride the start of the month it was at "normal" levels.  Definitely will be a different start and finish.

Rest easy, the water level looks about average for this time of year, it should be just fine for the swim. Last year was an anomoly...the result of an extremely warm and dry late spring, irrigation demand and senior water rights...it's complicated. Good luck.

Let's set a hard place to meet. Otherwise, it's going to be hard to find each other.  How about near the finish, on the east side, at 10:30am?  Post your race numbers here once you have them.  I'll be in my red, white, black flame-looking tri top and a white running hat.

3:45 or 4 was my thought. Stayed in Loveland last year & didn't find the $125 for a hotel room to be worth it. I was up at 4 anyway!!

As far as being ready, not sure, I'm aiming for 5430 on August 12th so my body is kind of tired and beat up right now.

I have the luxury of staying in my parents house in Longmont, so I'll be up at 4:30 and leaving at 5am.
