Ouchie, that sucks!!!! Ice, ice, ice and keep it elevated as much as possible!! Take those anti-inflammatories as well!! Happy healing!

I agree...RICE it up (rest, ice, compression, elevation). I've got chronically weak ankles, and have sprained my left one 3 or 4 times. One time required x-rays...the others no more than a couple of days icing and I was good as new. So, if you could walk on it after you sprained it, you may respond well to a couple days of rest. If it was too painful to put weight on, I'd suggest seeing a doctor.

Yah uh...no walking for me either. It's elevated and iced right now. Darn, I really wanted to go golfing!

Have you considered accupuncture? I go to an accupuncturist for certain types of injuries, including when I sprained BOTH of my ankles last year (not at the same time, but within 3 months of each other). The first treatment reduced the swelling by at least half. The first time I sprained my ankle was 6 weeks before the Chicago marathon. I ran the marathon with no problems, but my sprain wasn't super serious in the first place. Give it a try, it can only help!
