Woke up and ate a clif bar and water. Rode down to the race site and got all marked up. Set up transition and just hung out.

Swim
  • 12m 44s
  • 1094 yards
  • 01m 10s / 100 yards
Comments:

Zack Paris led the entire swim and had a full minute on second place coming into transition. I came out about 1:30 behind Zack in the lead pack on the swim.
What would you do differently?:

Try to swim in the ocean more, it should be too hard.
Transition 1
  • 01m 45s
Comments:

Good transition, 400yd run from the ebach to transition
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 37m 12s
  • 15.53 miles
  • 25.05 mile/hr
Comments:

I wish I didn't have the huge group drafting off of me during the bike, the course marshall was warning people but never gave out a time penalty to the drafters. I didn't carry a water bottle with me during the bike, and I think that helped me a little.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, maybe carry water? Hope the course marshall gives out penalties.
Transition 2
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

Good Transition, long time running.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 16m 42s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 05m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Okay run, sorta calmed down the pace after the turn around after I saw that I wasn't going to catch anyone and nobody was going to catch me. I came into the race planning to go hard the 1st half of the run and cruise the 2nd half. I wanted to have good legs for next week.
What would you do differently?:

Go hard the 2nd half.
Post race

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Great job Corey. And yes, you should have had a water bottle with you...that way you could have taken care of the drafters. (I'm kidding, of course.)

Nice work. Good luck with the rest of your season .
