Today I went out and scouted Old Stage Rd. Auch auch auch, that is a mean mountain!! I went up and over, turned around at 36 and went back up and over. Let me tell you that hurts, I had to get out of the saddle to make it up there.

I am glad I went so now I know what to expect and I am sorry I did it because now I know what to expect. The views are great. I flew down at 44mph which was a bit scary too.

Have a great race everyone!!

Something to remember about Old Stage......

The bike course is a gradual up hill climb all the way to the base of Old Stage Hill. A leeson that I learned last year is to keep from going out of T1 too fast and them blowing up on the steeper climb. In the grand sceme of things, Old Stage is pretty short, race within your abilities and the rest of the course is fast.

but that's just my opinion.

Good Luck everyone, I'll be playing athletic supporter for my wife during the race so I'll see you all there. Look for the Parker Tri Club group.
