Age Group Rank = 6/35
Pre-race routine:

I have a half PBJ and a banana. Goto 711 and buy two vitamin waters. Drink one of them and put the other in my water bottle.

This is a two transition race, so I dropped the family off at T1 and drove over to T2. There is no parking at T1. I get T2 setup and find Scott. We walk/ride back to T1 and hang out.
Event warmup:

Ride from T2 to T1. Oogle the hot bods when wife is not looking. Pose for pictures. Contemplate life.

Comments:

I felt awesome during this swim. I was in wave 2 and stayed to the outside. I quickly broke from the pack and was into wave 1 about half way through. By the time I was finished I had passed most of wave1. There was a girl who was swimming towards the inside that I could no pass. I wonder who she is....

Transition 1
  • 01m 42s
Comments:

I felt good coming out of the water. T1 was very close to the water so there was not much running. I forgot where my bike was so I ran around in crcles a little bit. I did not have my wetsuit so that saved time. I had trouble getting my top on so I should probably work on that (when wet).
What would you do differently?:

Remember where my bike was.

Comments:

I really think I should have pushed harder. I did not have my aerobars because I broke one in last weeks race. This probably slowed me down a little bit.
What would you do differently?:

Should have pedaled harder/faster/more.
Transition 2
  • 00m 47s
Comments:

I thought it was very fast. I ran without socks. So all I had to do was ditch the bike and helmet. Pop on the shoes and go. The family was at this trans and it was good to see them.
What would you do differently?:

What would you do differently?:

Hum, run faster? ;)
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a little bit. Ate some food. Drank water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Schaumburg triathlon the week before.

Event comments:

Great race and location. Will definitely do it again. I love that it is right in my backyard. I could walk to the start. I thought I would not like the two transition areas, but I actually did not mind it at all.

I did not feel to great during the whole ride. I did not feel like pushing. I think I might be burnt from Schaumburg last week.
