Pre-race routine:

None whatsoever. Barely got there in time to get signed up. Made mistake of going to Skyline Chili for lunch, as Tuesday is all you can eat. I had a large, a medium and a small - no wonder I am not loosing any weight. That was like 7 hours prior, but I still had a gut full of chili for the start.
Event warmup:

Barely got there in time to sign up, but I was able to get my legs stretched out just a little - hopefully enough to make a difference. Took 3 endurolytes, though I don't think the race was necessarily long enough to warrant them. I figured with my poor diet earlier, I may have been a bit dehydrated, with all my blood working on digesting the massive amount of lunch chili, and not helping me with the run.

Comments:

Out of 30 minutes for the race, I walked about 3 total minutes. Great course, I had fun, though there were times the race sucked due to my run conditioning.
What would you do differently?:

Hydrate the day of the race. Not eat a huge lunch. Get there early enough to sufficiently warm up. Conditioning.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretching and some water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Conditioning. Couldn't get my heart rate down (I hit 187) - maybe the pseudofed I had earlier that day? I was probably a bit dehydrated as well.

Event comments:

Aside from starting the race out 10 minutes early, this was a great race on a great course. I wish I would have started the series at the beginning of July - I'll have to keep this in mind for next year.

Course: Course was Chinquapin Ridge, which is the home course for the Noblesville High School Cross Country team. This is a purpose built area, specifically for CC. I liked the fact that there were markers every 200 meters or so marking the distance. There are two main areas for the course - "the wetlands" and the grassy area (don't know it's official name). You start out and do a loop of the grasslands, then two loops of the wetlands, and finally a loop of the drylands again. http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/map.asp?routeid=25163 It rained the morning of the race, so the wetlands area was pretty muddy and slick. There were several people who turned ankles as a result.
