Pre-race routine:

Nervous as always. Went to the potty and downed a gel before the race.
Event warmup:

Hopped in the pool a few minutes ahead of time and started to relax. The water felt really nice!

The first half of the swim I felt really good and was going to make sub 10:00 When I noticed this I got excited (giggle giggle) and lost my rhythm. I shouldn't have looked at my watch!

Don't know what my time was for this but it went pretty smooth/quick. The transition area was so small that I was pretty much at the ride point after about 10 steps. Riding without socks helped a lot. I probably saved close to a minute with no socks and my new elastic yankz.

I carried my own bottle and just had the girl throw the water on my chest ;) That was such a smart idea.. on the way back I had her throw it in my face.. She loved it!
What would you do differently?:

Suck it up and run faster.

Oh yeah.. I didn't know the run course very well. Next time I'll know the course because I hate not knowing where I'm going!

Jumped pack in the pool and cooled off there.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I can't swim!

They accidentally gave an award to the wrong person and had to take it away from her. I felt bad for her!
