Run
Comments: Pretty good run. I started out at what I thought was pretty slowly b/c my stomach was too full. I'm kicking myself for eating so much so close to race time. For some reason I always think I'm going to be hungry. Oh well. Learning experience. First mile under 10 min/mile, so I was cruising right alot as compared to what pace I normally start out running. Next few miles were pretty consistent I think, right at or just under a 10 min/mile. I kept thinking that I could make right at a 10 min/mile, until I hit the last 1.5 miles-the hills just killed me. Slowed me down quite a bit. Plus, I think I was starting to slow down anyway... Overall, I'm happy with this race. This was a PR for me-even though had I not eaten so much I might have done better. What would you do differently?: I probably started too fast compared to what I'm used to so that's one of the reasons I started to fade at the end-plus the hills and humidity. Not eat so much so close to the race. Post race
Warm down: Walked around the booths. Stood in line and got a short stretch by some PT's. What limited your ability to perform faster: Ate too much, not enough running in the last few weeks and humidity. Event comments: This is a great race for women. Esp. if this is a first time race for them. Stroller division, 5k and 10k walking division. Then tons of booths and free stuff afterwards. Last updated: 2007-08-03 12:00 AM

Got up about 6, ate bowl of oatmeal with handful of walnuts, about 1/2 cup tea. This was too much food too close to start time...Hydrated quite a bit as well-water with some gatorade. Race started at 7:30.
Walked around and used the porta-potty twice. I probably hydrated too much.
