Subject: Good resources to learn about bikes...
Right now Im completely ignorant about bikes but I would like to learn. What are some good resources to teach me about bikes, components, etc? Im going to be going to a bike workshop with the Tri Club here in SD to learn more but would like to start doing some reading before then. What can you guys/girls recommend?

Thanks
Mike

Sheldon Brown's site is great, as is the Park Tools site and the Zinn books. I'd also recommend reading the roadbikereview.com forums and gear reviews. I've learned a lot from that site.

The other thing to do is just ask questions. Bike nerds love to talk about bikes. Ask the people at your LBS (local bike shop) about things and if they aren't super busy, they'll probably talk your ear off. Ask the people at the Road Bike Review forums for help. Ask the people here.
