Run
Comments: I beat my 47:00 goal by 8 seconds with a furious sprint the last three blocks. It was my first ever Al's Run. I had a great time and raised money for Children's Hospital. Did I mention 15,000 people? What would you do differently?: Train more...run lots. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and talked to mutri! It was great to see a Donkey today. Even though I'm not an official Donkey yet, I did them proud by eating a Chipotle burrito after the race. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training...mostly hill repeats and speed work. Event comments: Great race, great venue, great cause. I'll be back next year! A 10:30 start is so different from the usual early a.m. triathlon start. Plenty of time to eat and get ready at home. A 20 minute drive downtown and parked in the free Summerfest lots. Stood in line for 20 minutes to catch the shuttle bus to the start line area. Talked to some nice people in line and on the bus.
Does standing in line for the port-a-potty count? I stretched and a quick jog to the area for the "8 minute mile" runners. I went there because my first mile is always that fast and I tend to slow down later. Never saw any of my co-workers from my team. In a sea of 15,000 people (runners and walkers) it was hard to find anyone I knew.
