Stop hanging out on the monkey bars and get out there and train.

It's there for you and you could do it if you want to and you do it right.

Key sentence, especially the part I underlined.

Of course, it's easier and more gratifying to some to seek attention by whining about how your expectations are too high and your progress is too slow, rather than to patiently and consistently train toward a goal.

Of course you can do both.  Do the training, get faster, AND whine about how hard it is in order to get attention - like me.

I am certainly in the camp that says, "Suck It Up Dude"

seriously; just need to focus on maintaining your proper mental balance during your training. Endurance Sports are just as much mental as they are physical and the mind will give out long before the body will.

Take some time and focus on mental recovery and everything will be fine. I usually start feeling like that when I have too much monotany in my training and it starts to wear me down mentally.

Rest assured, come taper time, you will definitely not be feeling this way. You will be like a race horse in the paddock kicking and rearing and very ready to race hard and fast.

Trying to get exactly 1 hour 50 minutes of biking in while doing 5x5min intervals at HR = 173 with 5 min active rest at HR = 140 and an average speed of 16.5 mph while taking in a GU pack every 30 minutes on the dot along with 4 oz of water every 15 mintues, then change into my running shoes in less than 60 seconds to go out for a 30 min brick also keeping the HR at 173 = NOT SO MUCH FUN!

Simplify.
