Swim
Comments: very proud of swim. tried to draft a little more and did a much better job of siting the bouy What would you do differently?: go faster? :) Transition 1
Comments: wetsuit got stuck. had to slip on long sleeve shirt. had a hard time getting clipped into peddles What would you do differently?: maybe skip the shirt and have some arm warmers or a zip up jacket Bike
Comments: good bike. need to work on force (train more on hills). also need to not be such a pussy going down hill on aerobars. passed alot of men and women older than me. had no idea where i stood in ag becuse i didn't know who was behind me in the swim. the course was hillier than i expected and there was some good head wind. i also lost my chain so had to put that back on and stopped for a minute when someone was down after crashing. two others were with her trying to relay back for help, so i said i would go on and get help that way. it took probably a few minutes for me to reach the next volunteer so i stopped breifly to tell them. What would you do differently?: maybe push a little harder but i say that now after the race. Transition 2
Comments: socks were wet so i decided to scratch them. felt like i had too much to put on with garmin, race belt and hat. What would you do differently?: have belt laid out differently stick socks somewhere where they won't get wet! Run
Comments: did pass 2 agroupers What would you do differently?: push a little harder in the end--i was feeling really good that last 2 miles Post race
Warm down: a bit of stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: training in colorado i think while was good on aerobic function beat my legs up. didn't rest saturday like i normally do...had soccer game, and wedding that night--didn't go to bed untill about 11 and got up at 4:30. This was kind of a "fun race" and all my training and bricks are based on the recplex next month which is shorter. I think i probably could have pushed the bike a bit more and maybe the run. Event comments: did things differently this time. ate a real breakfast, had coffee and tried some different flavor GU's. Very happy with how i did. i was a tough course. it made me realize that i need to train more on hills on both running and biking and work on transistion times. got to meet a couple other tri club members, so that's always good.
