Swim
  • 14m 55s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 49s / 100 yards
Comments:

First open water swim. Wasn't to bad ended up catching the women that went 5min ahead of us which made the last 300m hard to swim. Got kicked in the jaw.
What would you do differently?:

Be more aggressive around bouy's.
Transition 1
  • 02m 49s
Comments:

This had a long run to T1, but was able to get everying off/on quickly. Only mistake I made was put my helmet on before my shirt. Shirt wouldn't go on over helmet and had to take helmet off.
What would you do differently?:

My shirt got knocked off my bike somehow which threw my routine off.
Bike
  • 35m 24s
  • 12 miles
  • 20.34 mile/hr
Comments:

My first lap was great. Felt strong and kept a good pace. My second lap when I hit the hills wasn't as strong, but I recoverd and finished somewhat strong. I started dry heaving a little on the second lap not sure why. I think it was because I was drinking to much, but not sure.
What would you do differently?:

Drink less and maybe start out just a tad bit slower.
Transition 2
  • 01m 16s
Comments:

Great transition I was in and out in no time. Not having to tie my laces was great.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe would like to try no socks sometime, but not sure I'm ready for that.
Run
  • 23m 4s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 25s  min/mile
Comments:

Of course the long hills are right at the beginning of the run which is hard after biking. It took me probably .5 of a mile after the hills to get my race legs back and i was able to pick the speed up.
What would you do differently?:

Mabye do some bricks with hills on the run.

Event comments:

Great race I feel I trained very well for this. My first open water swim went very well. My training partner had a great race and beat me by 20seconds.
