Subject: numb toes on the bike
My toes go numb after even half an hour on the bike. I have tried adjusting the cleats on my shoes, using padded insoles, and adjusting my saddle position. Has anyone heard of a solution to this problem?

try this:

take a pair of running shoe insoles and put them in your riding shoes to help absorb the road vibration to eliminate the "NUMB TOES" feeling.

I get that from time to time too, and I discovered that if I don’t tie my shoes tight at all it is much better and no more numbness. I tie snug at the bottom, lose in the mid sole and little snug at the top. Helps me.. X-Numb toes Jack.

two words: lace locks. never tie your shoes again. They are similar to the Yankz! system but better because you don't replace the original laces. I'll upload a picture later if I can figure out how, but you could just go to your running store or EMS. They'll be in a container near the cash register, about a buck or so.

There is a product called meat cleats, that are shims that you can use fit you cleats to the you pedal.  I was having a problem with hotspots and some minor numbness with the feet.  I went to my local bike shop and we spent a little time making sure that I was set up correctly with my shoes and pedals.  What happens if you are not fitted properly is that part of your foot get more pressure than another and that can cause hotspots or numbness.  Before I was fitted properly, I would have to got to a happy place from about mile 20-25, but now I don't have that problem.

I was having trouble with numbness, too. My foot is mobile, and I wear orthotics in my running shoes. In my bike shoes, my feet were too mobile as well, and that was causing my problem. I had thin orthotics for dress shoes, and I use these in my bike shoes. Problem solved.
Not a cheap solution, but I was fortunate to have them covered by work benefits.
