Subject: Atlanta area-registering for races
Hi everyone,

I will be moving to the Atlanta area in a few weeks and was just checking out the races scheduled for next year. I am interested in the Tri the Parks series, Tugaloo, and maybe a few others. Do you know about how far in advance you really need to register? Thanks!

I participated in two of the races this summer and didn't sign up for either of them till June.  They should be announcing the races and venues around December.  By the way, welcome to Atlanta and to the BT Boards!

Go to www.active.com to search for 2005 races.

I raced the High Falls Tri the Parks race last year and it was great. Also see www.trifind.com for other tris in Georgia. As Motivated said, it should be updated over the next 4-6 weeks or so.

Actually, I just looked into it and if you go to the Tri Blue Sky Sports page, they already have the race schedule listed.  Registration for the series opened Nov 1st.  Here's the link:

Thanks for the info. I will have to wait a while before reistering since I have so much going on with moving and such. (can't believe how expensive moving trucks are!! Eeeks!!) But I hope to not have to wait too long and miss out on these races, they look great.

Good luck with the move ( I know how it feels!)

A few BTers are planning some group rides and mock tris in preparation for the races next year and you are welcome to join. I am and will be nursing my knee (patellar tendonitis) for a while though.
