Event warmup:

jogged about 10 minutes, stretched before the race
  • 27m 5s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 44s  min/mile

Great run despite my sore knee.
The motivation to move faster was a stinky runner in front of me who had me dry heaving at one point in the race :) It was like winning the entire thing just to pass that guy.
Post race
Warm down:

Totally freaked out when I found out that I was first in my age division.
What an amazing rush.

Event comments:

This was a really nice race in the North GA mountians. The leaves were changing and the air was wonderfully. I could not have asked for a more perfect running environment

First in your age division!!! Amy, congrats! Did you celebrate? Did you get a medal or anything? How cool is that. I'm happy for you. That's awesome! Wahoo!

Thanks guys. It's so rewarding just to think this time last year I couldn't do a lap around the track without almost collapsing.

I got a cool blue ribbon and a great piece of pottery made by the art department at Rabun co. high school.

The pottery is displayed proudly in my living room at the moment. Of course, this race was the one time I didn't bring my camera.
