Run
Comments: You know I started the race with really no goal in mind. I viewed it basically as a training run. I passed several slower (I'm slow) people on the Mill Ave bridge which set me up for the run. I felt good on the Curry climb and settled into a good pace. I heard the time at the 3 mile mark and I was right at 30 min. I was happy. The 4 & 5 mile marks were 40 and 50 min. I was thinking that I could get an hour if I was able to stay at the is pace. This was my second year running this course, so it was nice to recall places on the course where I may have struggled before or walked. I was very pleased to set a PR with this time. I think I ran at about 1:09 last year so this was quite an improvement. I also only walked during the water stops, so I am pleased that I am getting better at this. I had plenty left to pick up the pace once I made the final turn onto Mill. What would you do differently?: Uh, nothing. I surprised myself with this run Post race
Warm down: I walked around and drank some water. got a muffin and an apple for some fuel. Event comments: This is the 32nd year for the race. They have all of the logistics down. Post race concert with a local band and some free beer. What is not to like about that. National anthem was played prior to the race. Last updated: 2007-11-12 12:00 AM
